Become a Weightlifting Coach

Why would you become a coach in Olympic Weightlifting? Principally its about being involved with people as they grow and develop but there are numerous other benefits including opportunities to travel, witness exceptional events, learn about how sport operates at the national and state levels, acquire knowledge and skill that has a commercial value and create strong links with your own community. Yes, there is much to learn but here in Tasmania there are people to support your learning over the many years to come.

The Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) runs more than 40 coach education courses per year. The next course in Tasmania is a "Club Licence Course" scheduled for Sat 28 and Sun 29 March 2015 in Hobart. The Club Licence Course is extremely popular and the demand is such that courses are often running simultaneously in different states of Australia. This course provides the participant with vitally important knowledge of the best practise in introducing beginners to the skills of Weightlifting and to the management of the training process. If you would like more information about the Club Licence Course, visit the AWF website pages on Coach Education.
